Update 12/27/2023

Merry Christmas! There has been a lot of movement in your home lately, and we are working on getting things ready for concrete in the basement. The jack-posts are in, and the floor is soon to be poured by Cornerstone Concrete by a gentleman named Bryce and his crew.  Before we pour, though, we are hoping that the state electrical inspector will allow us to get electric service inspected and be allowed to get electric in so we can start pumping and get plumbing in now and then get the underground plumbing done.

A Busy We

This week has been a very busy week at the house. The house was wrapped with paper and plastic, so your new carpets and vinyl flooring wouldn’t be ruined.  The septic was installed, and electricity is being installed today (12/15). The conduit to the pole has been installed as well.

The basement jack-posts footers and pylons are being poured today as well. Pushing the jack-posts to be installed early to mid next week.

Our electrician will work on the garage power later in the build, but for the time being, he will get electricity going as quickly as possible at your house. Theoretically, we can get power within 10 days of the inspection, which is based on the power company, in this case, AEP. Simultaneously, we are also working on getting gas on to get that furnace fired up and get the temperature good in there to get mud going! We are on track and making process!

Set Went Great

Other than a couple of obvious hiccups from that day, the set went very well. The cracking for your house is minimal, especially for the traveling it had to do to get to your final set. The beautiful home will be covered with plastic and paper to ensure everything stays pristine as our contractors work on it.  The septic tank is going in on Tuesday the 12th, barring nothing gets the contractors out of the way. The electric service will also be fully installed that day, and we can get electricity in as soon as the inspector approves it. The floor and jack-posts are being installed this week as well, this will be installed by the same crew that set your home.

I am hoping to meet with the Michigan Utilities rep tomorrow as well; while I am there.

Update 10/13

Steve Curtis dug the foundation this week. Yoder will not pour in Berrien County; however, Pioneer will. Sarah will send foundation prints and permits to Jeff Katzer next week.
